Coach King returns to Moore County

Moore County High School has a boys’ basketball as Lavon King has returned to his stomping ground to take the reins of the Raider program.
Coach King returns to Moore County after a nineyear tenure at Marshall Co, where he won over 145 games, won two district championships, and was two time coach of the year. He was also given the opportunity to coach in the BCAT All-star game.
Before leaving Moore County Coach King won coach of the year three times, made six district championship appearances, three sectional appearances, and a state tournament appearance. He brings a wealth of coaching experience, and a heart for the Moore County community.
When asked about the opportunity, Coach King stated, “I am looking forward to coming back home and finishing what we started. I will miss a lot of good things about Lewisburg but excited to come home and instill core values of discipline, hard work, and respect for the game, and continue building relationships for future generations. I am looking forward to challenging these guys and getting back to the community and starting anew. I would like to thank the school administration and the director of schools for giving me another opportunity to do right by these kids and continue making Moore County a place that everyone can be proud of.”
