Middle School Raiderettes take first losses

After starting the season 2-0 the Moore County Middle School softball team finally caught a loss, falling 9-2 to Westwood after tearing up the Fayetteville Tigers 13-3.
Westwood led the entire contest against Moore County, taking a 5-0 lead through three before the Raiderettes punched in two in the bottom of the fourth. The girls from Manchester finished the game with four in the top of the seventh. Westwood outhit Moore 10-to-4 on the evening with no Raiderette getting multiple hits. Baylee Thomas and Lilly Parks accounted for both RBI while Madison Hatfield and Lily Smith did the scoring. Time in the circle was split between Smith and Parks with Smith fanning eight in four innings of work while Parks struck out three in three innings.
Their bad luck continued Friday as they lost in a shootout against Community, 14-10. Community outhit the Radierettes 10to-9. However, Moore County led the contest 3-2 going into the fourth when Community tied the game. Moore County then jumped back into the lead in the fourth but a huge ninerun seventh for the Viqueens proved to be the difference.
Baylee Thomas, Rylee Logan and Emmy Thomas all had two hits apiece in the contest with Bayllee Thomas plating three runs. Logan has two runs and two RBI and Emmy Thomas had tow runs. Lily Smith worked all seven innings from the circle, fanning eight, walking four on 141 pitches.
