The following individuals were arrested or being held in Metro Moore County April 25th - May 2nd
General Sessions
Metro Moore County General Sessions Court Judge Terry Gregory April 28, 2025 Jason M Aldrich was charged with aggravated assault. Bond $10,000. Continued 6.30.26 Officer Carpenter Gary Wayne Brewer was charged with simple possession, possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia. Bond $1,000 Continued 5.19.26 Officer Greene Alton Claude Christian was charged with speeding, violation of financial responsibility law, and driving on a revoked license. Continued 5.19.26 Officer Keele Anthony Scott Clark was charged with driving on a revoked license and failure to stop at all stop signs. Continued 5.19.26 Officer Carson Matthew Christian Corbett was charged with speeding and casual exchange. Charged dismissed and retired. Officer Coe John W Daulton was charged with driving without a license. Found guilty. Officer Greene

Metro Council mulls Whiskey Creek issues
Prior to officially opening April’s Metro Council meeting Gerald Burnett, sitting in for Chair Amy Cashion, reminded the council members and audience of proper meeting etiquette, warning against disparaging or negative remarks, or contentious behavior. Cashion herself had recently given such a reminder.

Sewanee professor meets Pope Leo
Last month, Sewanee Professor of History, former Peruvian Ambassador to the Republic of Ireland, and Guggenheim Fellow Carmen McEvoy met Pope Leo XIV during a special audience at the Vatican.

Soap Box Derby returns May 2
The excitement is building as the TUA Soap Box Derby prepares to return to West Lincoln Street in Tullahoma on May 2 bringing with it a day of youth competition, community spirit, and familyfriendly fun.

DAR presents gift to Moore County Public Library
The Moore County Public Library was gifted recently with a copy of The American Revolution, an Intimate History, by Ken Burns and Geoffrey C. Ward, along with a DVD of the PBS series based on that book.

Arrests
The following individuals were arrested or being held in Metro Moore County April 16 - 24, 2026 Thomas Lynn Jr. Fayetteville. Charge with probation violation. Court 4.24.26 Jessie Erving Thompson, Antioch. Charged with failure to appear. Bond $2,500 Court 5.19.26 Paul Mason Riddle, Estill Springs. Charged with failure to appear. Bond $10,000. Court 4.21.26 Joshua Ray Trussell, Lyncyhburg. Charged with aggravated burglary, three counts of domestic assault, interference with emergency calls, two counts of vandalism and child abuse/neglect (violent). Bond $25,000.

Moore County competes at Special Olympics
Moore County will be amongst the teams competing at the Special Olympics Monday at Tullahoma High School. Athletes are encouraged to arrive by 9:15 a.m., or earlier if possible, to prepare for the opening festivities. The day’s schedule will begin with check-in at 8:15 a.m., followed by athletes lining up on the track between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. for the Parade of Athletes, which will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m.
Cease and Desist actions green lighted
Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Chair Dexter Golden brought up discussion at April’s Metro Council meeting regarding initiating “Cease-and-Desist” actions. P&Z decided at their last meeting to bring the issue to the council. Presently, should any building infractions occur, warning letters are sent out by the Planning Administrator Christine Pyrdum. Ms. Pyrdum told the council that these letters are frequently ignored. Presently there are no enforcement steps set out, though there is provision for fining violators $50 a day until the infractions are corrected.
