Arrests
The following individuals were arrested or being held in Metro Moore County April 16 - 24, 2026 Thomas Lynn Jr. Fayetteville. Charge with probation violation. Court 4.24.26 Jessie Erving Thompson, Antioch. Charged with failure to appear. Bond $2,500 Court 5.19.26 Paul Mason Riddle, Estill Springs. Charged with failure to appear. Bond $10,000. Court 4.21.26 Joshua Ray Trussell, Lyncyhburg. Charged with aggravated burglary, three counts of domestic assault, interference with emergency calls, two counts of vandalism and child abuse/neglect (violent). Bond $25,000.

Moore County competes at Special Olympics
Moore County will be amongst the teams competing at the Special Olympics Monday at Tullahoma High School. Athletes are encouraged to arrive by 9:15 a.m., or earlier if possible, to prepare for the opening festivities. The day’s schedule will begin with check-in at 8:15 a.m., followed by athletes lining up on the track between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. for the Parade of Athletes, which will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m.
Cease and Desist actions green lighted
Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Chair Dexter Golden brought up discussion at April’s Metro Council meeting regarding initiating “Cease-and-Desist” actions. P&Z decided at their last meeting to bring the issue to the council. Presently, should any building infractions occur, warning letters are sent out by the Planning Administrator Christine Pyrdum. Ms. Pyrdum told the council that these letters are frequently ignored. Presently there are no enforcement steps set out, though there is provision for fining violators $50 a day until the infractions are corrected.

Spring in the Hollow this Saturday
Lynchburg will be abuzz Saturday as Spring in the Hollow will bring a day-full of fun to downtown.

MUD still plagued with water losses
The main topic of discussion at April’s Metro Utility Department meeting was the continued water loss problem. With all but a handful of the new Kamstrup meters in place it was hoped that meters would pick up on leaks and low flow contributing to the persistent water loss that the older meters were unable to capture.

School Board eyes upcoming budget
April’s School Board meeting opened with 9th grade student Cale Rose making a statement to the board. Miss Rose, very active in 4-H, wished to thank the board for their continued support of 4-H and FFA activities, especially the field trips the groups take. Some trips are educational in nature, and some are for competitions. The board’s approval is required for these trips, which often result in the students’ absence from some classes. Miss Rose was 2025’s Grand Champion for the 4-H Chick Chain.

The following individuals were arrested or being held in Metro Moore County April 4 - April 9, 2026 William Scott Szalka, Manchester. Charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic, evading arrest, reckless driving and speeding. Court 4.7.26 Bond $2,000.
General Sessions
Metro Moore County General Sessions Court Docket Judge Terry Gregory 4.6.26 Landon M Barbour was charged with unlawful use of a cell phone while driving.

Done Deal: Principal takes new job
Moore County is looking for a new high school principal after Josh Deal announced he is leaving at the end of the school year to take the Supervisor of Support Services job at the central school office.
