Raiderettes take down Champions

The Middle School Raiderettes opened their postseason with a 6-2 win over the Cascade Lady Champions.
The Raiderettes won the hitting battle also, outhitting the Champions 10-to-6 on the night. Moore County led all the way after scoring two in the top of the first, only allowing two runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Lexie Cash cashed in on her visits to the plate as she went 3-for-4 at the dish, scoring two runs. Emmy Thomas was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI while Lily Smith was 1-for-4 with the bat but knocked in two runs. Haven Hornaday scored two runs while Rylee Logan scored a run and knocked one in. Thomas and Logan both had double baggers.
Lily Smith worked all seven from the circle as she fanned six Champions on 81 pitches.
They next romped over Cannon County, beating them 12-6 in a game they put on ice in the bottom of the sixth when the Raiderettes bats exploded for six runs.
Lexie Cash had another great game as she was 3-for-5 at the dish with two runs and two RBI. The Raiderettes outhit the Lady Lions 12-to-7 on the night and watched Cannon County make six fielding errors. Lily Smith was 2-for0-3 with three runs and a run batted in while Madison Hatfield as also 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. Olivia Jacobs went 3-for-3 at the dish and had two runs and two RBI. Penelope Rose had a run and two RBI. Rose joined Cash and Smith as Raiderettes that hit double baggers on the night. Hatfi eld had a triple.
Lily Parks worked most of the way in the circle, striking out five on 97 pitches. Lily Smith closed, throwing 19 pitches at the end.
The postseason winning streak came to an end in the next game against the Westwood Lady Rockets as the Raiderettes fell 13-11.
The girls from Manchester held the advantage most of the game after getting four runs in the first and two in the second and then six in the fifth. However, the Raiderettes were able to match that output in the bottom of the fifth with six runs of their own but were unable able to make the comeback. Westwood outhit the Raiderettes 14-to-12. Haven Hornaday had a great day at the plate going 3-for5 with a run and an RBI. Rose was 2-for 3 with a run and an RBI. Jacobs was 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI while Hatfield was 2-for-4 with one run. Parks and Smith combined on the hill.
