Raiderettes crush Hornets 16-0

The Moore County Middle School Raiderettes crushed the Huntland Lady Hornets for the second time this season, beating them 16-0 Tuesday.

The Raiderettes did all their damage in the first two innings as they scored eight in the first and eight in the second. The game was stopped after three due to the run rule. The Raiderettes held the Lady Hornets to two hits on the night and forced seven Huntland fielding errors.

Lexi Cash had a huge night, going 2-for-3 at the plate, scoring three and knocking in three more as she hit a missile over the fence and also hit a triple bagger. Rylee Logan was 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI while Emmy Thomas went 2-for-3 at the dish with two runs and two RBI. Haven Hornaday was 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Lily Parks shut down the Hornets from the circle as she fanned five and walked none on 44 pitches during her three innings of work.

The Middle School Raiderettes took it on the chin the next game against Community, losing 11-1 and then lost 1-0 to Cannon County. However, they rebounded in a big way against Fayetteville, crushing the Lady Tigers 21-0.

The Raiderettes outhit their guests 10-to-2 and watched Fayetteville make six fielding errors while Moore County was flawless in the field. Lily Parks did her part in shutting down the Lady Tiger bats as she struck out two from the circle and had to work just three innings and throw 31 pitches thanks to the Raiderettes’ explosive offense.

Haven Hornaday had a bit part in that offense as she was 2-for-3 at the dish, with three runs and an RBI. Jerogia Douglas joined her in the multi-hit club as she was 2-for-2 was three runs and two RBI. Olivia Jacobs and Penelope Rose both contributed to RBIs in the rout while Rylee Logan scored three runs after being walked twice. Lexie Cash also posted three runs and had an RBI.
