Middle School Raiderettes start new winning streak

The Moore County Middle School softball team ended a two game skid in a big way, pounding both Liberty and Huntland in back-to-back wins.

The Raiderettes led the whole way against Liberty, scoring two in the second and four in the third before finishing it off with four in the top of the fifth. They outhit their hosts 4-to-2 as hits were at a premium. Lexie Cash had the only two-hit game as she also scored a run and knocked one in. Baylee Thomas accounted for three runs and had two RB. Emmy Thomas also scored two runs.

Lily Parks worked the whole way from the circle, fanning six and walking just one on 64 pitches. She outpitched her opposite number as the Liberty pitcher gave nine Raiderettes free passes to first base by walks.

Huntland was the next victim for the Raiderettes as they crushed their rival 15-3. The game was pretty much over after two as Moore County scored five in the first and nine in the second. The game was stopped after four as the Raiderettes outhit their guests 13-to-6. Lily Smith was on her game as she was 3-for-three with the stick and scored three runs. Madison Hatfield had it going on as she was 2-for-2 with four RBI and two runs. Lexie Cash was 2-for-3 with three runs, Baylee Thomas was 2-for-3 with two runs and Rylee Logan was 2-for-3 with two runs and four RBI. Both Hatfi eld and Logan hit dingers in the contest. Logan also had a three bagger while Baylee Thomas slugged a double. Lily Smith worked the whole way in the circle, fanning four and walking just one on 68 pitches.
