Spring in the Hollow this Saturday

Lynchburg will be abuzz Saturday as Spring in the Hollow will bring a day-full of fun to downtown.
The event will get off to a fast start as the Vibin’ in the Hollow Color Run was begin at 8 a.m. at Wiseman Park to benefit Lynchburg Elementary School’s PTO. The Lucky Duck Race will follow on its heels at 9 a.m. on Mulberry Creek along Main Street with the proceeds going to the Moore County Resource Center. The Center provides students in need with a new backpack and school supplies along with shoes, school clothes and hygiene products.
The cost to sponsor a racer (duck) is $20 and there will be a 240 duck maximum. First place is $350 while losers are also rewarded as the last place duck takes home $150. Entries can be made through John LaCook, through the Moore County Resource Center or any volunteers at the event.
At 9:30 the barrel planter sale begins and Miss Bobo’s sidewalk sale starts at 8 a.m. Ribeye steak sandwiches will be available on the square at 11 a.m. and the international chili society will be cooking stuff up at the Welcome Center at 11 a.m. Simple Salads will be at the Masonic Lodge beginning at 11 a.m. The birdhouse auction begins at the Gazebo at 11 a.m. while judging for the chili contest is ongoing during the afternoon. Winners will be announced at 4 p.m.
