A Tullahoma man drowned this past Sunday afternoon falling off his paddle craft at Tims Ford Lake in Moore County.

The body of the man, Blake Lewis, 24, was recovered from the water just after 7 p.m. Sunday, less than two hours after he fell overboard. Witnesses say Lewis was paddle craft boating when he fell overboard into the lake. An occupant of a nearby craft tried to save him by throwing him floatation devices by Lewis was unable to reach them before going under. He was not wearing a floatation device at the time he went overboard.

Emergency Services from Franklin and Moore County joined the TWRA to find the man’s body. He was found using sonar. Lewis is the second boating-related fatality on Tims Ford this year.
