School Board grants tenures, reviews budget
Four Moore County teachers have been approved for tenure at May’s School Board meeting. Jennifer Bird, Debbie Sitlow, Holly White, and Chris White all met state qualifi cations for tenure, and were all approved by unanimous vote, with Jamie Cashion being absent.

Ally Sharpe signs with UAH Chargers
Raiderette standout Ally Sharpe has signed to play college basketball with the University of Alabama- Huntsville Chargers. She will be playing for her father, Coach Allen Sharpe who led his Chargers to the Elite Eight this past season.

METRO MOORE COUNTY UTILITY DEPARTMENT
The Metro Utility Department’s budget was the main topic of May’s board meeting. The 2026-2027 budget sees few changes from this year’s budget other than allowing for rising costs of business. Last year’s projections for the 20252026 budget were on target, with revenues being slightly higher than projected.

Whiskey Creek woes continue
Project manager Spencer Haithcote appeared at May’s Planning Commission meeting along with attorney Madison Haynes, who represents the Retreat at Whiskey Creek, as well as the Gateway Company. Up for discussion once again was the Phase 2 of the Retreat at Whiskey Creek, after an administrative meeting was held the week prior to the Planning Commission’s meeting.

Live on the Lawn returns May 22
The GFWC Centennial Woman’s Club of Tullahoma will be holding its sixth annual “Live on the Lawn” fundraiser on Friday, May 22, from 6 – 9 p.m.

Metro Moore County General Sessions Court Judge Terry Gregory March 3, 2026 Luz B Beddingfield was found guilty of DUI, first offense. Given an 11/29 suspension but for 48 hours to serve. Paying $350 in fines and costs within 10 months and license was revoked for one year. Charges of assault and revisiting arrests were dismissed. Bond $5000. Officer Olivia Asaiah Bishop was charged with harassment. Continued 3.31.26 Bond $1000. Sandra Brown was charged with speeding. Found guilty. Officer Leverette Melody Carol Bowling was found guilty of seat belt violation. Officer Leverette Sandra Dee Bright was charged with possession of fentanyl and possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia. Continued to Grand Jury 3.27.26. Officer Thomas Misha Buckelew was found guilty of unlawful use of a phone while driving. Officer Leverette Kristine Jane Denham was charged and four guilty of speeding. Officer Keele Nathan W Farrar was charged with allowing a dog to run at large. Continued 4.28.26 Officer Silavong Donna Marie Fowler was charged with driving on an expired registration. Dismissed. Officer Keele Robert Wayne Frazier was found guilty of probation violation- sentenced to 6 months to serve in lieu of further probation. Charge of failure to appear was dismissed. Bond $2500.
