Stephens homerun sets up Raider comeback

The Moore County Raiders were able to cap the regular season with a win, topping the Hampshire Hawks 9-8, avenging an early 10-3 loss to the squad back in March.
The win snapped a three-game losing streak that saw the Raiders drop a home and away series to Richland, 6-0 and 7-3 and then a game to Giles County, 5-0. That losing streak came on the heels of a five-game winning streak for Moore County during which the Raiders topped Eagleville 1-0, Cornersville 11-10 and 8-0, Warren County 3-2 and Culleoka 8-4. And, prior to the five-game streak, the Raiders had won three of four beating Rocket City 15-5, Mt. Pleasant 16-10 and Rocket City again 10-0 before getting beat by Eagleville 7-3. With the streaks, the Raiders ended the regular season 14-13.
The Raiders ended their regular season with a walk off win when Kohlby Williams singled a line drive into centerfield, scoring Colton Morey who had just stolen second base after getting on base with a single earlier in the evening with two outs already on the board in the seventh. The run was set up earlier in the evening when Luke Stephens clobbered a three-run homer.
Prior to the late game heroics, things looked bleak for the Raiders as they trailed 8-5 going into the home half of the final inning. The Raiders outhit their guests 11-to-8 on the night. Williams was top dog for the Raiders as he was 3-for-5 with an RBI while Stephens joined him in top dog status going 1-for-2, one of those hits being a homerun, scoring two and knocking in three.
The trio of Carter Zerhusen, Jose Garcia and Joseph Graham worked the hill for the Raiders.
