Mt. Pleasant has unpleasant trip to Lynchburg

Jax Ross made sure things were not pleasant for Mt. Pleasant as the Moore County Raiders got a 16-10 win over their visitors, with five of those runs knocked in by kicker turned third baseman.
The five RBI night came as result of a 4-for-5 showing at the plate. Colton Morey also had a say in the outcome as he was 3-for-4 with the stick, scoring four runs. Rylan Stovall was 2-for-5 with three RBI.
The Raiders needed all the offense they could get as Mt. Pleasant kept it close, scoring three in the fourth and five in the fifth to make it a 12-10 game going into the sixth. However, the Raiders put it away with a four-run sixth. The Raiders outhit their guests 17-to-9 on the night.
Crew Costello worked the first two innings on the hill, fanning one. Jose Garcia pitched the middle four, fanning four. Carter Zerhusen was the closer.
The Raiders extended their winning streak to three the next game as they completed a season sweep of the Rocket City Raiders, blanking them 10-0. The win gave Moore County the sweep after they beat Rocket City 15-5 back on April 3.
The game was one-sided as the Raiders surrendered just a single hit while getting 11 hits themselves. Cole Taylor worked the masterpiece from the mound as he hurled all five innings, fanning six and walking just two on 72 pitches. At the plate Kohlby Williams was 2-for-4 with a run while Deacon Liles was 2-for-3 with three runs. Jace Deal was 1-for-2 with a run and three RBI while Colton Morey was 1-for-2 with a run and three RBI. He also received two walks. Cody Burton was 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI.
The Raiders next split a double header with Eagleville, losing the opener 7-3 and then winning the nightcap 7-1. The second game saw Moore County grab the lead in the first and run with it as they never trailed, outhitting their opponents 7-to-2. Colton Morey had a big game going 2-for-3 at the dish, scoring two and knocking in two. Jose Garcia stepped up and had a 2-for-3 game, scoring one and knocking one in. Jace Deal scored two runs on a 1-for-2 day. Rylan Stovall, Kohlby Williams and Jace Deal all had double baggers while Morey slugged two triples.
Deacon Liles and Carter Zerhusen combined on the hill. Monday night the Raiders won a thriller over Cornersville 11-10. Moore County had to hold on at the end as the Bulldogs scored seven runs in the last two innings but were stopped one run short of tying up the game in the top of the seventh. The Raiders got out to a three-run lead after one and were up by as many as five after three. Moore County outhit their guests 14-to-13 on the night.

Jax Ross was 2-for-4 with two RBI while Braylynn Hill was 2-for-3 with two runs. Jace Deal drew two walks on a 1-for-2 night and was able to parlay them into two runs and an RBI.
Crew Costello and Colton Morey combined on the hill, fanning nine Bulldogs with Morey closing and getting the win as he pitched the last five innings.
