Cascade wins tight contest over Moore

Cascade was able to make it a sweep over the Middle School Raiderettes Monday as they continued what they started before spring break, beating Moore County in a tight 5-3 tilt.

The Lady Champions snapped the Raiderette fourgame winning streak 4-3 in their first meeting two weeks prior. The issue in the game this past Monday was the first inning as Cascade scored four runs and held the commanding lead until the bottom of the fifth when Moore County scored all three of its runs. The teams were even on hits, both getting seven and they were even on fielding errors, both making a single miscue. Seventh-grader Addalynn Hollowell had her best game of the season as she was 2-for-3 at the dish, scoring a run and knocking one in. The other hits came from Lexi Cash, Haven Hornaday, Lily Smith, Olivia Jacobs, and Penelope Rose with Cash getting an RBI. Rose and Hornaday both hit double baggers.

Smith worked the circle the whole way, fanning eight Lady Champions on 92 pitches.
