Raiderettes beat Eaglettes in come-from-behind win

The Moore County High School Raiderettes blew it up in the fifth inning against Shelbyville, scoring seven for a come-from-behind 7-5 win over the Eaglettes. The Raiderettes had trailed the entire contest as Shelbyville held a 5-0 lead going into the bottom of the fifth. That’s when the Raiderette bats came alive to score the winning runs. The hot inning allowed the Raiderettes to outhit their guests 10-to-7. Lailar Logan was on board the rally train as she was 2-for-4 at the dish with a run and an RBI. Abbie Bateman followed suit as she was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Meanwhile Anna Deaton went 2-for-3 with a run. Ellie Carter registered to RBI for her squad and hit a triple-bagger.
Logan worked the whole way from the circle as she fanned three on 102 pitches.
The win came after an 11-5 loss to Richland. The Lady Raiders put away the game with six in the third and near looked back. Bailey Dunn helped keep her squad in it as she 3-for-3 with two RBI while Logan was 2-for-4 with a run. Carter also contributed two runs the cause.
The loss came after the Raiderettes finished a season sweep of Grundy County, downing them 12-5. The Raiderettes were trailing going into fourth down 4-2. However, they caught fire and finished the game on a run with two in the fourth, one in the fifth, three in the sixth and four in the seventh while surrendering no more runs by the Lady Yellow Jackets.
Reagan and Rian Ross both had two hits as did Bailey Dunn and Logan. The Ross’ also combined for four RBI and five runs. Carter, Anna Deaton and Jenny Sanders all scored two runs apiece. Bailey Dunn started the game from the circle and was charged with all five runs. Bateman relieved her and worked the final five innings.
