Ross goes yard in Raiderette win

The Moore County High School Raiderettes got their first win of the season this past week as they beat the Grundy County Lady Yellow Jackets 9-6.

The win was in comeback style as after holding a 3-2 lead through four, Grundy took a one-run lead after the fifth. However, the Raiderettes turned on the juice in the bottom of the sixth, scoring five. They then limited their hosts to two runs in the top of the seventh to take home the win. Both teams had eight hits on the night.

Rian Ross was huge in the victory as she went 3-for-4 from the plate, scoring two runs and accounting for three RBI. She also hit a dinger. Whitney Fanning also showed up strong as she was 2-for-2 at the dish, scoring three runs and knocking in one. She also had a triple. Abbie Bateman was 1-for-3 with the stick and scored two runs.

Kinsley Miller did the work from the circle as she hurled 87 offerings, fanning seven while giving no charity as she walked no one.
