Bucks have monster October

It was a monster October for the Motlow Lady Bucks soccer team as they dropped just one match and ended the month on a four game winning streak during which they did not allow a single goal.

The team stands at 135-2 overall and is 11-1-2 in conference. They are 6-2 at home this season and have scored 74 goals, averaging 23 shot per game.

The Bucks started the month off with a 2-2 tie against Pillissippi State and then won a 3-1 home tilt against Roane State. Their only loss of October came at home in a 3-1 defeat by Wallace State on Oct. 6. Since that point, the Bucks have not tasted a defeat or given up a goal. The winning streak started with an 8-0 blowout of Dyersburg State. Ella Hopson had a pair of goals while Libbie Trainor had a hat trick, beating the goalie three times. Goalie Yasmine McFarland only had to make one save in the lopsided victory.

The Bucks came back with another 8-nil win at Chattanooga State on Oct. 17, scoring five goals in the first half. Cali Banks took scoring honors with two while Ryan Campbell, Britzel Hayitin, Bryhana Molina, Patty Nichols, Libbie Trainor and Maddy Hillyer all had single goals.

The Bucks enjoyed home cooking with a 3-0 win over Columbia State in their next match. Ella Hopson had a big game, sneaking two by the goalie while Calie Banks also had a goal.

The Bucks ended the month with a 3-nil win over Volunteer State. Tullahoma’s Avery Sisk had one of the goals while Cali Banks and Bryhana Molnia had the others.
