Bobbie Lee Redd, 90

Bobbie Lee Redd, 90, of Lynchburg, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro surrounded by her loving family.
A native of Moore County, she was born on Feb. 27, 1936, in Lynchburg to the late Clifton and Pauline (Nelson) Hall. For over sixty years, Bobbie owned and operated Redd’s Grocery Store with her husband, Lavon “Rusty” Redd. They both cherished the time serving their community and friendships that were made at the store. She enjoyed being outside tending to her goats, as well as taking trips to Dairy Queen. A devoted Christian, she loved her church, Beech Hill Baptist Church and the time spent with her church family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lavon “Rusty” Redd; daughters, Judy Redd Young and Annie Redd Norris; sister, Betty Jane Redford; and son-in-law, Harold “Duck” Young.
Bobbie Lee is survived by her loving grandchildren, Leigh Ann (Scott) Willis of Murfreesboro and Kevin (Jennifer) Young of Lynchburg; great-grandchildren, Angelica Lightfoot of Lynchburg, Gabrielle (Lucas) Waller of Lynchburg, Cody Young of Lynchburg, and Kaycee Young of Lynchburg; great-great-grandchild, Porter Waller of Lynchburg; and sister, Helen Craig of Tullahoma.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in the Chapel of Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Rev. Troy Deaton officiating. Interment followed at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.
