Lynchburg Harley-Davidson plans Poker Run and Bike Night events

Lynchburg’s Harley-Davidson store is set for its second annual Poker Run on Saturday, August 22nd this year. Just as last year, proceeds will go to benefit Friends of Animals. This year the sponsor hopes to reach their goal of 150 bikes participating in the run. Sign ups begin at 10:00 am, and the run begins at 11:00am. The entry fee is $20 per rider and $10 per passenger. The first 200 bikes to register will receive a commemorative poker chip.

The fun doesn’t end with the run. There will music on the square from 2:00 pm until5:00 pm. Danny Garwood and Company will be playing their brand of Classic Rock and Blues. Commemorative 2026 Poker Run patches will be available again this year for $10 while supplies last. The patches can be pre-ordered.

This year has been one of the busiest ever for Friends of Animals. Taking in a record number of animals has led to higher-than-normal medical expenses. They have expanded their Trap-Neuter-Return efforts, as well as their spay and neuter voucher programs. These programs are so important in keeping the population of unwanted and uncared for animals in check.

Every registration, every rider and passenger, every patch sold and dollar spent will  help to save animals’ lives, and give them a chance for a forever home. That makes every poker hand a winner!

And that’s not all! On Saturday, September 26, Lynchburg Harley-Davidson will be hosting Bike Night on the square from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. They invite all bikes to “Ride in, hang out, and live it up.”  This event will feature the Laura Drake Band, playing Classic Rock ‘N Roll. There will be a food truck as well as the regular restaurants on the square to handle food and drinks.

All bikers, riders, aficionados, and fans are invited to join in and see some incredible bikes, and to enjoy the music and thunder on the square!
