DAR presents gift to Moore County Public Library

The Moore County Public Library was gifted recently with a copy of The American Revolution, an Intimate History, by Ken Burns and Geoffrey C. Ward, along with a DVD of the PBS series based on that book.

The presentation was made to Cheryl Eason by Jessica Quandt-Neese, Regent General James Winchester Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR). Assisting in the presentation were Linda Lee Travis, Registrar with the Shelby Chapter, NSDAR, and Rachel Neese, with the Stones River Chapter, Children of the American Revolution (NSCAR).

To honor America’s 250th birthday, the NSDAR was awarded a grant from the state of Tennessee to present one of the books and DVDs to each county in the state. The book will be in the reference section of the library, and not available for loan. The DVD will be available for loan.
