The Rollercoaster

Iknow I can’t be alone in admitting that this life seems to be one crazy ride right now! The ups and downs, the twists the turns and even the unknowns seem so much more dramatic than even a few years ago. Do you feel as though you have been strapped into the seat of a high-speed rollercoaster too? One thing God has revealed to me in these “hold on tight” moments is that the ride will soon come to an end, and you too will walk out of that ride unharmed and unscathed. “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:9. In the valley, God is there. On the peak, God is there. In the turns of unknown, God is there.

No matter how crazy life gets we can rest assured that our safety harness is always there to protect us. I wonder just how many of you feel the same atmospheric pressure and urgency that I have been feeling for the last twelve months. There is an urgency in my soul to expand into every supernatural area God is calling of me even though the natural life shows no sign of slowing down. The enemy seeks to steal your peace each day in ways you may have become numb to. For instance, are you living with one foot in the doorstep of the promises God has for your life and the other foot stuck in mediocracy and oppression? Are you exceling in your career while your marriage is falling apart? Is your business thriving while the sacrifice away from your spouse and children is causing turmoil? Are you repairing a beautiful relationship while another one is crumbling?

These are wonderful examples of living in this friction of change and captivity. This rollercoaster of life was never promised to be a funfilled and adventurous ride. I can confidently say that if you are living for God in this world, you better hold on tight friend! I look around and often wonder why I got on this ride, but God always reminds me of the verse above. He is worth the ticket price and His faithfulness is the breath of relief when you feel the wheels below you begin to slow down. When you get back on solid ground, because you will, you can look back at that rollercoaster and laugh knowing you survived! Will you have to ride it again? Probably. The next time though you can confidently know that God is there guiding and directing even when your eyes are closed and your knuckles are clinched. Ladies and gentlemen, buy the ticket! Buy the ticket even when you don’t know what to expect. Buy the ticket to the most important ride of your life because the One at the controls is always Jesus.

“Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.” Proverbs 31:25.
