Nursing Center wins national award

Lynchburg Nursing Center has been recognized as a 2026 Bronze – Achievement in Quality Award recipient by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living. The center was notified of its achievement on May 28.
“Winning the Bronze Quality Award is especially meaningful because it reflects our team’s dedication, compassion and commitment to excellence,” said Executive Director Cheryl Pendergrass. “Our team consistently puts others first and strives to provide the highest quality care to our patients. I couldn’t be prouder of all this team has accomplished and the positive impact they make daily.”

Implemented by AHCA/NCAL in 1996, the National Quality Award Program is a rigorous three-level process in which organizations are reviewed and evaluated by trained experts against a set of nationally recognized standards for organizational excellence: the Baldrige Performance Excellence Framework. The framework helps organizations achieve superior performance over time, enhancing quality of care and quality of life for long-term care residents. Providers begin this quality improvement journey at the Bronze level, where they develop an organizational profile outlining key elements such as their vision, mission, customer base, core strengths and challenges.
The Award will be formally presented during “Delivering Solutions 26,” the AHCA/NCAL Annual Convention and Exposition, Oct. 11-14, in Boston, Mass.
