The Stone

A nd, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was cruci ed. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Matthew 28:1-6.

Can you imagine being Mary Magdalene and Mary in this moment of great revelation and miraculous works? As Easter draws near, I encourage you to truly focus on these verses and what they mean to you at this present time. That stone represents the heaviness of sin and darkness that was rolled away so that you may have light, resurrection and life! What a glorious feeling to know that we are not held captive to the weight of our past and the weight of the evil in this world because there was a Man who was sent to break those chains of bondage and pay the ultimate price for that freedom. My heart can’t comprehend that love nor can my words ever come close, but today I am here to say that you are deeply and madly loved by Jesus.

If you are hiding behind the stone of depression or loneliness today, I pray you know you can command that boulder to be rolled away with the outcry of His Holy name! You were never destined to live a life of imprisonment and the sacred scriptures above are infallible proof that your deliverance is but one great shaking of the earth’s atmosphere away. That earthquake comes when you open your mouth and declare His faithfulness, mercy and grace over your life – please don’t sit still this week! God is waiting for some radical folks to shake Heaven’s gates and bring down all the glory unto those who love Him. He is waiting on the Marys who Jesus trusted to spread the good news that HE IS RISEN! He is waiting on you to command your stone to be rolled away so that you may step into all that He has called you to be when His bloody body was nailed to the tree at Calvary. I know that Easter can be lled with all the u c of this carnal world, but I beg you to see what symbol of eternal hope we received when He uttered the words, “It is nished.”

“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is nished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.” John 19:30. He wasn’t promising a life exempt from heartache and su c rage as He hung next to the sinner, but He did promise an eternal life in Heaven when our days on earth are done. A life where we su c er no more, a life where our stones are no longer our stumbling blocks, a life of abundance and victory and a life lled with the guarantee that you will never be alone. Friends, life is hard.

Some days people may think I have it all together, but this journey to my ultimate home is lled with all the same evil snares and darts as each of you. I sometimes too get stuck behind the stone of immovable circumstances and feelings. But when I cry out to our Father, He has always been and always will be faithful in rolling the heaviness away and letting the light of His a c ection warm my soul. As you prepare yourself this week for all the festivities may you stop for just a moment to fall before the Cross in wonder as you are reminded of the incomprehensible love looking back down upon you. I pray this Easter, when your heaviest stone is rolled away, you too run with great joy as the angel instructed and tell others about the mighty King we serve!

“And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.” Matthew 28:7-8.

Easter Blessings, Kayla
