A Moore County man identified as Kenneth E. Bailey, 36, was killed Saturday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with a car on Highway 50 near the Franklin-Moore County line.
According to a report by Tennessee Highway Patrolman Tommy Lyles, around 3:45 p.m. Saturday the 2002 Yamaha motorcycle operated by Bailey rounded a curve on Highway 50 and struck a 2008 Kia driven by John B. Wilson Jr., 63, of Lebanon, in the passenger side.
According to the trooper’s report, Wilson was turning into a private driveway when Bailey and his motorcycle rounded a blind curve and struck the car. The victim was taken to Southern Tennessee Medical Center where he was dead on arrival, authorities said.
Deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department assisted Lyles.
No charges were filed in the accident.
A resident of Old Fayetteville Highway, Lynchburg, Bailey was a native of Scottsboro, Ala., and a son of the late Nona Cookston. He was a CDL driver employed by Brown-Forman and was a member of Charity Baptist Church.
