Winchester Speedway has added a $3,000-to-win Super Late Model special event to this weekend’s racing card. The Summerfest 40 will join other racing divisions in action, including a $700-to-win feature for the track’s Two-barrel Limited Late Models.

The Super Late Model program will include time trials, heat races and a last-chance race. Entry fee is $100 with $50 in tow money.

Gates open at 3 p.m. with registration closing at the 6 p.m. drivers’ meeting. General admission is $15 with children 12-and-under free. Pit passes are $30 ($10 for children 6-12). For more information, go online to <winchesterspeedway.net> or call Jimmy Nowlin at (931) 224-2928 or (931) 968-4949.

With a victory on May 25, Winchester’s Josh Johnson was the most recent Super Late Model winner, while Mark Haddon, of Estill Springs won that night’s Limited Late Model main event. Alabama native Dewayne Hicks won the Modified Street feature on May 25 and Jeremy Owens, of Fayetteville, won the Street Stock feature.

Decherd’s John Perry (Mini Stock), Shelbyville’s Jeff Smith (Vintage Dwarf) and New Market, Ala., driver Tim Echols (Mod Lites) were winners as well. Most of those drivers are expected back this weekend for the speedway’s first-ever Summerfest.
