LYNCHBURG, Tenn. — Lynchburg Nursing Center recently presented its annual “Whatever It Takes And Then Some” award to Tiffiny Walton, licensed practical nurse.
This award goes to the associate who best exemplifies excellent customer service, and the center presented Walton with the award, along with a crown, roses and a cash prize, at its all-staff meeting on Feb. 10.
While she does her job well daily, Walton was nominated for a particular instance in which she went beyond the call of duty.
“Tiffiny works on our Memory Lane Hall, which is home to patients with a diagnosis of dementia,” said D.J. Slivka, executive director. “As one of our long-term patients on Memory Lane was passing away, she came in on her own time to make sure the resident was comfortable. She spent time with him and made sure he wasn’t alone in his last moments.”
“I love all my patients, said Walton. “They are like family to me, and I try to treat them like I would want my family treated.”
Walton won the center’s monthly “Whatever It Takes And Then Some Award” in December. She was then chosen for the annual award from among the 12 monthly winners.
