[Shelbyville, TN, March 1, 2021] – Jennifer Wright, Technology Foundations Instructor at TCAT Shelbyville, has been selected as finalist for the Technical College Faculty Member of the Year in the 2021 Tennessee Board of Regents Statewide Outstanding Achievement Recognition. Ms. Wright has been employed at TCAT Shelbyville since 2018. Prior to coming to TCAT Shelbyville, Ms. Wright taught Math at Warren County High School.
Ms. Wright was nominated for this award by her colleagues because of her passion for student success and belief that all students are capable of achieving their goals. Many times, Ms. Wright is the first instructor students meet when they come to campus as it is her responsibility to have all students prepared in Math and Reading for their selected program of study. Additionally, Ms. Wright has taught as an adjunct instructor at TCAT McMinnville, served as the interim Vice President at TCAT Shelbyville, and has served on several statewide education committees where she has provided input regarding the developmental Math and Reading skills necessary for technical education.
A resident of McMinnville, TN, Ms. Wright and her husband, Chad, have two children, Hannah and Austin. She holds a Master’s degree in Education from Tennessee Tech University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee Martin.
