Spring in the Hollow is in the Air

Posted on Monday, March 12, 2012 at 8:01 pm

Rayma Reese (the widow of Baxter Milsaps) shows off a 150 year old Civil War era quilt that’s been passed down in the Milsaps family for four generations at the Quilt Harvest during last year’s Spring in the Hollow festival in Lynchburg. This year’s event takes place on April 28.

The redbuds are blooming, robins are singing and spring is in the air.  In Moore County, that means that Spring in the Hollow is just around the corner on April 28.

The Quilt Harvest will return this year and for information on how you can display your treasured quilt(s), contact Dianna Milner of the Moore County FCE Club at (931) 759-6828 or  Quilts will be displayed in the IBIS Building (on the corner between Farmers Bank and the Iron Kettle) and will be carefully monitored by FCE members.

Plant, craft and non-profit vendors are encouraged to contact Candy Richard at (931) 433-8461 after 6 p.m. to secure a spot at this year’s event.

A vendor application can also be found at the Lynchburg Chamber of Commerce website (
