The Raiderettes suffered a season ending 12-9 loss against Silverdale on Wednesday morning in the second round of the TSSAA State Tournament.
Moore County’s girls rallied from a 10-0 deficit in the third inning to manage a 12-9 score heading into the final inning.
In the bottom of the third, Kelsey Camp got MC on the boards with an earned run. The Raiderettes managed two more runs in the fourth and one in the fifth before putting together a five run rally in the sixth inning while holding Silverdale to just one run in the top of the seventh.
On Monday night, the Raiderettes lost to the Coalfield Lady Yellow Jackets (38-8-1) in a 2-0 pitcher’s battle.
Raiderette hurler Kasey Harvey allowed only two runs in seven innings with no earned runs, seven hits and two walks. Harvey struck out five.
On the other end, Lady Yellow Jacket pitcher Lindsey Fadnek – with over 1,800 career strike outs – pitched seven shutout innings. She struck out 13 Moore County batters and surrendered only four hits.
The Raiderettes started five eighth graders and a freshman this season.•
