The Father of Newgrass, Sam Bush, has been added to the Lynchburg Music Fest lineup.
The award-winning bluegrass artist — a multi-instrumental virtuoso best known for his work on the mandolin and fiddle — is credited with inspiring some of today’s biggest artists, from Taylor Swift to the Avett Brothers.
The Lynchburg Music Fest will be held at Wiseman Park and on the historic downtown square Aug. 23-24.
Bush — considered to be a pioneer in the evolution of bluegrass — boasts seven solo albums and a slew of Grammy Awards, making him one of the most legendary artists of the genre. The three-time national champion fiddler brings six decades of performance experience alongside the likes of Emmylou Harris and Lyle Lovett, to the Lynchburg Music Fest stage.
