LACOOK, Richard Allen “Cookie,” 73, of Lynchburg, passed this life on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma. Mr. LaCook was born in Akron, Ohio to the late Gerald and Agnes Jones LaCook. During his life, Mr. LaCook worked as a Motorcycle Mechanic for Pioneer Equipment. He was an expert in everything to do with motorcycles and specialized in working with Hondas. He was a C.B. radio enthusiast and was known by the handle “Honda Doctor.” Mr. LaCook was an avid outdoorsman and a skilled handyman. Most importantly, however, he was a loving and beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In addition to his parents, Mr. LaCook is preceded in death by one brother, Jerry LaCook; one sister, Vivian Worden; and two grandchildren, Linda Sue Elrod and Jennifer Greathouse. He is survived by his wife Janice LaCook, of Lynchburg; two sons, Richard Allen LaCook Jr. and John LaCook and wife Robyn, all of Lynchburg; four daughters, Pam Greathouse of Barberton, Ohio, Reba Elrod of Celina, Tenn., Rhonda Micciche and husband Peter of Jim Thorpe, Pa., and Lisa Thurston and husband Frank of Manchester, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and his special companion, a Chihuahua lovingly known as Tootie. Visitation for Mr. LaCook was held Sunday, March 17 at Kilgore Funeral Home. Funeral Services were held Monday, March 18 at 11 a.m. in the Kilgore Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Phillip Barnett officiating. Burial followed at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX, 75231.
