UNIONVILLE – The Moore County Raiders missed a chance to pull ahead of Community and out of the District 9-A cellar on Friday night as the Raiders lost to the Vikings 76-59.

At Community, the hosts got 18 points apiece from Blake Fanning and Tanner Simmons, and another 13 from Logan Pierce.

Community pulled ahead by 11 in the first quarter and never trailed. Moore County managed to cut the lead to seven points by forcing a handful of Vikings turnovers, but the Raiders struggled to make shots right around the rim and by halftime, the Vikings extended the lead to 13 points.

Dalton Barrier led Moore County with 10 points, while Dillon Davis added nine. Johnny Robinson and Christian Glascoe scored six apiece.

Moore County was scheduled to play at Lincoln County on Saturday night.
