HUNTLAND — The Moore County High School boys basketball team lost a late lead and dropped a 54-51 decision to Grundy County Friday afternoon in the When States Collide holiday tournament at Huntland High School.

The Raiders had two chances to tie the game and force overtime, but a 3-pointer with 45 seconds left rimmed in and out and a 3-pointer at the buzzer was off the mark.

A day earlier, Moore County earned a 48-40 win over Kate Duncan Smith DAR School, of Grant, Ala.

Moore County (5-11) will be back in action on Jan. 4, as the Raiders return to District 9-A play at Eagleville. The boys game will start at approximately 7:30 p.m.
