It took a while, but the Raiderettes finally woke up. Turning the tide with a better defensive effort in the fourth period, the Moore County High School girls’ basketball team pulled away from visiting Cornersville on Monday to win its opening round game in the District 8-A Tournament.
The Raiderettes topped the Lady Bulldogs 44-31 in the tournament quarter finals to advance to Tuesday’s semi-final contest at Eagleville. Results of that game were not available at press time. Regardless of Tuesday’s outcome, Moore County is guaranteed to play at least two more games. The Raiderettes play again at 7 p.m. on Thursday in either the tournament’s championship game or the consolation game. Those games will be played at the home of the higher seed. Tuesday’s win
also guarantees that MCHS will advance to the Region 4-A Tournament for the 20th consecutive season.
