The 2012 Moore County High School baseball season will get underway on Monday with the Raiders hosting Grundy County at 4:30 at Jim Burton Field.

This year’s Raider team will be blessed with experience with several of the starters returning in key positions from last year’s team, according to Raider head coach Josh Deal.

The Raiders will return four-year starter Justin Durm who will see time at third base and shortstop, as well as on the mound.

Cody Cashion will hold down second base.

Dakota Bateman will be back at first base as well as being a part of the pitching rotation for the Raiders.

Devan Bean will handle the duties behind the plate and may see some time on the mound as well.

Ben Harvey, Cole Boyce and Cole Montgomery will handle things in the outfield.

Harvey and Boyce will also be involved as starting pitchers.

Josh Prater should also see time at third, first and behind the plate depending on the pitching situation.

The Raiders will go on the road on Thursday to play Fayetteville City at 4:30 p.m. and will host Huntland at 4 p.m. the following Monday.

The Raiders will then travel to Huntland the next day for a 4 p.m. game and the JVs will play at 6:30 p.m.
