Nominations Requested for Ninth Annual Heart of Gold Citizenship Award

It’s time once again to say “Thank You” to a friend, family member or neighbor who is helping to make Moore County a great place to live. The Heart of Gold Citizenship Award recognizes a citizen of Moore County or a surrounding county whose actions exemplify care, concern and compassion for the citizens of Moore County. Nominations are made by the public. The award is sponsored by fce, but it is not necessary for nominees to be members of fce. Those nominated should be unselfish in working to benefit others, above and beyond what his or her occupation might require. Nominations are not restricted by age, race, gender or national origin. The Ninth Annual Heart of Gold Award will be presented at Frontier Days, June 23. The award winner will receive a letter of commendation from the mayor and the fce Council president and a personal commemorative plaque. The winner’s name will be added to the perpetual plaque which hangs in the Moore County Court House. The fce Council will make a cash donation of $100 to a charity designated by the winner. To make a nomination, explain in a few words why your selection deserves recognition. Include your name and a contact number in the event more information is needed. Nominations should be placed in a sealed envelope marked “Heart of Gold Award.” Individuals can submit only one nomination. The deadline for nominations is May 1. They may be dropped off at the Extension Office in the County Building or mailed to fce, P.O. Box 188, Lynchburg, TN 37352.
