Motlow’s Katie Thomas leads nation in 3-point shooting

Motlow State’s Katie Thomas, the former Moore County standout, leads the country in 3-point shooting percentage at 53.3. Thomas, a sophomore, leads the Tennessee Junior College Conference by a wide margin, as well. She has made 49 of 92 3-point attempts through Saturday.

She made 6-of-9 treys on the way to a season-high 24 points in an 81-67 win last Wednesday over Roane State.

For the season, Thomas is averaging 11.2 points per game and 4.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists a game through 19 games. She also has a 3.7 GPA.

The Lady Bucks were to host Walters State on Wednesday and the men will also be in action that night. After Wednesday, there are only three home games left in Motlow State’s regular season.
