The regular season opener follows a pair of scrimmage dates, beginning Saturday, Oct. 10, with a trip to Albany, Ga., for the Southeast Juco Jamboree. The second scrimmage date is the following Saturday, when the Lady Bucks will play at the A.J. Kilvey Jamboree in Chattanooga.

“The scrimmages that we have for our preseason will be great tests to see how the team has bonded together over the last few weeks,” said Tharpe.

The Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) conference schedule begins on Nov. 6, with a trip to Columbia State. The home portion of Motlow’s schedule begins on Wednesday, Nov. 11, when the Lady Bucks welcome Wallace State at 5:30 p.m.

The schedule includes 29 total games, with 15 inside Copperweld Arena on Motlow’s Moore County campus and 14 on the road. Outside of the 18 TCCAA contests, the Lady Bucks will play home-and-home series with Snead State and Gadsden State from Alabama, and junior varsity teams from Martin Methodist College and Bryan College.

“The schedule that we have this year presents many challenges that will allow our athletes the opportunity to grow as a team during certain home/away stretches,” added Tharpe. “I feel confident that we will come together as a team and compete each and every night we are on the floor.”

The schedule includes two home stands; one the week of Nov. 17-24 with four games scheduled, and the other Jan. 11-23 when six games are slated to be played at Copperweld. The longest road trip is four games from Jan. 25-Feb. 2.

“The home stands will be a great opportunity to see competitive women’s basketball against conference and non-conference opponents,” Tharpe concluded.

As part of the new TCCAA scheduling mandate, the Lady Bucks will play a number of games in January and February at new times. For example, the Friday, Jan. 15, home game against Southwest Tennessee finds the Lady Bucks playing at 7:30 p.m.; after the men’s game. The following day with Dyersburg State at Copperweld Arena, the Bucks will lead things off at 2 p.m. with the women’s game following at 4 p.m.

The regular season ends on Saturday, Feb. 20, when Motlow hosts Jackson State. The TCCAA tournament begins March 1 at Volunteer State in Gallatin. The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) tournament begins March 14 in Salina, Kan.
