Moore Public Defender Elected President of District Conference

The Tennessee District Public Defenders Conference has elected Donna Orr Hargrove to serve as the President of the Conference for fiscal year 2017-2018. Mrs. Hargrove is the District Public Defender for the 17th Judicial District, which includes Bedford, Lincoln, Marshall and Moore Counties. District Public Defenders represent persons who are charged with crimes and cannot afford to hire their own attorneys. Hargrove was elected to the position in 1998, 2006 and 2014. Prior to this, she was an Assistant Public Defender for five years. The Public Defenders Conference is a statewide system of elected Public Defenders from each Judicial District. Mrs. Hargrove has offices in Marshall, Lincoln and Bedford Counties. She oversees a staff that includes 3 legal secretaries, an investigator, and seven attorneys. Mrs. Hargrove graduated from David Lipscomb College and the Nashville School of Law. She has been married to Joel Hargrove for over 30 years. They are the proud parents of David Hargrove and Jessica Hargrove.
