Posted on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 10:59 am

The Moore County Republicans will hold their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 26 at 7 p.m. in the County Building.  In the interest of public information, the group is inviting all local candidates, who will appear on the August 2ballot to attend and speak.

There are two candidates for County Road Superintendent and three candidates for County Assessor of Property.  The Metro Council and Metro School Board openings are not contested.  With three seats open in two council districts, there is only one candidate for First District and two candidates for Fourth District.  There is one candidate for each of the Second, Fourth and Fifth Metro School Board Districts.

Candidates will have an opportunity to share their experience and qualifications for the job they are seeking and to answer questions.

“Our goal,” explains Chairman David Baldovin “is informed voters, whether the election is local, state or federal.  We are encouraging registered voters to attend this meeting, regardless of their party affiliation.”

The meetings usually last from one to one and one-half hours.  For more information contact David Baldovin at or 759-7605.
