The Moore County Republican Party will hold its first monthly meeting of 2014 on Tuesday, Jan. 28 in the lower level of the County Building beginning at 7 p.m.
As always, the public is welcome. Also welcome in any of the upcoming meetings are any candidates running for local offices here in Moore County in the upcoming 2014 elections. The tentative agenda for the meeting will be discussion of upcoming local, state and federal elections.
“Also up for discussion will be Common Core Standards and public school textbooks in Tennessee, and what amounts to Jihad in the classroom,” said David Baldovin, chairman of the Moore County group.
Baldovin was part of a statewide group this past fall known as “Textbook Warriors.”
“(We were) looking into the corruption of your children’s and grandchildren’s textbooks, reviewing them for biases, half-truths, and untrue assertions (which are) purposeful attempts to misinform and indoctrinate our youth,” Baldovin added.
He said, time permitting, some of what was discovered will be imparted to attendees.
The Moore County GOP meets at 7 p.m. on the last Tuesday of each month in the County Building.
