Summer Reading is here.
June is lining up to be a very busy month at the Moore County Public Library. Check out what is going on and make plans to attend.
This year’s Summer Reading theme is Dig into Reading for the young children pre-school to 5th grade; Beneath the Surface for middle and high school ages; and Groundbreaking Reads for adults. The library staff would like to invite everyone to come and join in the fun at your age appropriate time.
For the first time the Moore County Public Library will be offering a Summer Fun Family Night. On Friday, June 28 beginning at 5 p.m., there will be food, fun and animal friends. Mark the date, gather the children and come join us.
The Moore County Public Library Board will meet at its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, June 11 at 5 p.m. in the director’s office. Library Board meetings are open to the public. The agenda includes topics including hours of operation, e-reader policy, revising staff duties and strategic planning.
***** Dig into Reading will be held each Wednesday morning in June beginning at 10 a.m. Plans are in the works for making terrariums, learning about burrowing animals, an archeological dig and learning about the soil and its importance for our survival. So, mark your calendars and come join us.
***** Beneath the Surface will be held each Tuesday evening in June beginning at 5 p.m. This year’s program will include a reading challenge and fun fast-pace games. So, invite a friend and come join in the activities.
***** Groundbreaking Reads will be in August. More information on this event will be available in upcoming months.
