Moore County fce members come home winners from state convention

LYNCHBURG, Tenn. — The fce 2015 State Convention was held in Clarksville Nov. 8-11. Attending from Moore County were Brenda Hannah, County Agent, along with 2016 County Council officers, Eileen Horton, president and Norma Stone, vice-president, and Lois fce Club member JoyLea Robertson.

State winners in Creative Writing and Cultural Arts were chosen from regional winners.

As the second smallest county in Tennessee, Moore County was well represented.

Moore County High School senior Emily Powell won first place in Children’s Stories and June Pugh placed third in Miscellaneous Stories.

Norma Stone claimed first place in Sweatshirt Makeover and second place in three categories — Hand Weaving, Machine Embroidery and Sewing for Adults. Marie Lemire finished in second place in Hand Embroidery.

Eileen Horton is in charge of planning the 2016 State Convention, which will be held Oct. 30-Nov. 2 at the Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro.
