Middle TN Civil War group plans meeting

Maj. Gen. Benjamin F. Cheatham Camp 72 plans their next meeting for Tuesday, April 24 at the Oak Restaurant in Manchester. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and the program begins at 7 p.m. Local history teacher Milan Hill will speak on Milroy’s Men. Milroy was the provost of the occupying Federal forces in this area. Hill will trace the lives of Milroy’s staff after the war.

Meetings are open to the general public and all Civil War buffs have a special invitation for the program.
Membership in the Sons of Confederate Veterans is open to all males 12 years of age and above who had an ancestor that served honorably in the Confederate Armed Forces or the Confederate Congress and can prove kinship either lineal or collaterally. Help is available to anyone interested in finding and proving kinship.
