The Metro Moore County Council appointed Linda Wolaver to replace Karl Prydom in the fourth district seat on Monday night at their monthly meeting.
Wolaver — nominated by Jackie Burton — beat fellow fourth district citizen, Shawn Adams, who was nominated by Wayne Brandon. The roll call vote was eight votes for Wolaver and three votes for Adams.
Wolaver was immediately sworn in by Metro Attorney John T. Bobo and took her seat at the council.
Metro Mayor Sloan Stewart announced Prydom’s resignation at February’s meeting. Mayor Stewart also appointed fellow fourth district member Oscar McGee to replace Pyrdom on the Metro Utilities Board and fellow fourth district member Jackie Burton to replace Prydom on the Metro Beer Board.
Those interested in the seat were required to reside within the fourth district and be a registered voter in Moore County.
Wolaver received a simple majority, which was a minimum of eight votes.
