Chloe Brazier pitched a perfect game to lead MCMS to a 16-0 softball win over Cascade last week. Anyston Metcalf blasted a bases-clearing double in the first to stake Brazier to a 4-0 lead. Rayelle Pierce doubled in a pair of runs as the Raiderettes pushed the lead to 14-0 after two innings. They added two more runs in the third inning and Brazier finished off the game with three strikeouts in the last of the third. MCMS also beat Cascade 11-1 and Huntland 5-2. Against Cascade, Brazier gave up an unearned run in the first, but the Raiderettes tied it up on Madelyn McGlaughlin’s hit and took a 3-1 lead on Metcalf’s double in the bottom of the first. MCMS added eight runs in the fourth without a hit, making hay with walks, hit batters and errors, to put Cascade away. Brazier blew away the visitors in five innings, giving up just two hits and striking out 12. Versus Huntland, Brazier was touched for two runs in the first inning but settled down after that. MCMS Þ nally broke through with the bats in the bottom of the fifth. Metcalf singled and Ava Womble reached on an error and stole second. Breanna Burks was hit by a pitch and Frazier drove in one and McGlaughlin drove in three on an error for a 4-2 lead. Brazier walked two batters in the sixth but closed the inning out with a big strikeout. The Raiderettes added a run in their half sixth on an error and an RBI single by Norman. Brazier struck out two more in the seventh and got a pop out to seal the win. In baseball, MCMS dropped a 4-3 decision to Community. Hayden Carter and Braden Ross pitched well in defeat.
