MCMS student Savannah StevensMoore County Middle School recently announced their Student of the Month for January. This is a character education program that honors a different character trait each month.

Every week a student is chosen from the student body of MCMS who demonstrates that character trait, and the Student of the Month is chosen from those students.

The character trait for January was perseverance and the Student of the Month is eighth grader Savannah Stevens.  She is the 13 year-old daughter of Mark and Ashley Stevens and has a little sister, Delaney.

“Savannah gets along well with her peers and others around her.  She is very responsible and will do anything to help others.  She is not loud or obnoxious, but is considerate, fair and cooperative with teachers and others,” say school officials.

Savannah plays softball year-round with many of her friends.

“This year I am playing high school softball, and I hope to keep playing until my senior year. My life mainly revolves around my friends, family and softball,” Savannah says.

Savannah received a goodie bag with lots of items including coupons from Lynchburg Drug Store, Hardee’s, Arby’s, Sonic, Subway, Domino’s Pizza, Dairy Queen, Tullahoma Lanes, Taco Bell, Krystal, Woodard’s and The Iron Kettle.  She also received a homework pass, a free ice cream from the cafeteria, and a certificate of recognition.
