The principal and faculty of Moore County Middle School recently announced that seventh grader Dustin Bell was selected as Student of the Month for the month of May for exhibiting the character trait of citizenship.
Student of the Month is an ongoing program that recognizes a single student for exemplifying the character trait of the month.
According to school officials, Dustin shows citizenship by being a good student who does his work and keeps up with it. “He is a very polite and well-mannered student. He has a good attitude about school and others. He doesn’t have a mad array about him but is pleasant and kind. He also shows good citizenship by respecting the flag as well as others,” say school officials.
Dustin is the 13 year-old son of Judy and Lyndon Stevens. He is the youngest of two brothers, and his favorite sport is football. He started playing in 2011, which is the year they won the championship. He started at left tackle on offence. “I can hardly wait to start playing next year,” he says.
As Student of the Month, Dustin received a goodie bag that included coupons from Sonic, Hardee’s, Lynchburg Drug Store, Domino’s, Dairy Queen, Taco Bell, Tullahoma Lanes, Krystal, Arby’s, Woodard’s Market and the Iron Kettle. He also received a certificate of recognition, a homework pass, a PE pass and a free ice cream from the cafeteria. Look for his name on the sign in front of the school.
