This is a character education program with different character traits emphasized each month. Every week a student is chosen who demonstrates that character trait and the monthly student is chosen from those students.
The character trait for February was “self-control.”
Megan is in seventh grade and is 12 years old. She lives with her mom, Alicia Overman, and her Nannie and Papa.
Megan transferred to MCMS from the Tullahoma school system and says her mom keeps her going.
“She has met the challenge of coming to a new school and worked hard to catch up on the work. She follows directions and does what is required of her. She does not follow the crowd but shows she is a responsible person. She also knows how to behave in the classroom as well as on the bus.,” says MCMS officials.
Megan says she would like to be a Minister at Lost and Found Outreach Ministries when she grows up. When not doing that, she would be a cashier at McDonald’s or work at the Eye Care Center as an associate.
She received a goodie bag with lots of items including coupons from Lynchburg Drug Store, Hardees, Arby’s, Sonic, Subway, Domino’s Pizza, Dairy Queen, Bowling, Taco Bell, Krystal, Woodards and Iron Kettle. She also received a homework pass, a free ice cream from the cafeteria, and a certificate of recognition.
