A 72-year-old Warren County man died as the result of a two-vehicle crash Thursday, Jan. 31 in Moore County.
According to a report by Tennessee Highway Patrolman Chad McAnally, around 6:30 p.m. a Jeep operated by James W. Howard, 72, of McMinnville collided with an 18-wheel truck, without the trailer, operated by Joshua F. Milton, 31, of Winchester at the intersection of Highway 82 and 55.
Trooper McAnally’s report states that Howard stopped at the intersection past the stop sign and was struck in the driver’s door by the truck operated by Milton.
Rescue personnel worked to free Howard and he was transported to the Moore County High School where Lifeflight helicopter landed and he was placed in the helicopter to be flown to Vanderbilt.
Howard later died from his injuries.
