LYNCHBURG, Tenn. — Moore County High/Middle School will be conducting an Orientation and Information Brief for all parents on Thursday, July 30 at 6 p.m.
The briefing will be held in the Commons Area and will be followed by a question and answer period. All parents are encouraged to attend.
Topics that will be covered during the orientation include: School and Student Achievement and Growth, State Accountability Measures, changes in school policies and procedures, attendance, the opportunity to meet new teaching staff, including new high school principal Chuck Tracy, and other issues of interest to parents.

School begins on Tuesday, Aug. 4 with an abbreviated school day. The first full day for students is Thursday, Aug. 6.
Four solid weeks of school will take students and teachers up to the Labor Day holiday, which is Sept. 7 and will give them a three-day weekend.
Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled at both the high school campus and Lynchburg Elementary School on Thursday, Sept. 17. School will not be in session on Friday, Sept. 18.
Fall Break is slated for Oct. 5-9 this year, while the Thanksgiving Holiday Break is again a full week from Nov. 23-27.
Another Parent/Teacher Conference is tabbed for Dec. 10 at Moore County High School.
That leads to an Abbreviated Day on Friday, Dec. 18 and two weeks out of session for Christmas Break from Dec. 21-31. Students will also be out on New Year’s Day, which is on a Friday. A teacher in-service day is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 4 and students return to school for the second half of the instructional year on Tuesday, Jan. 5.
The final day of the school year is set for Friday, May 27 and is also an Abbreviated Day.
